Kingdom Hope

Everlasting Life ... then Death?

   God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them. God said to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." - Genesis 1:27-28  (WEB)

   And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. - Genesis 2:16-17  (ASV)

To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and ate from the tree, about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it,' the ground is cursed for your sake. ... By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return." - Genesis 3:17-19  (WEB)

Faith = Everlasting Life

  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:16  (WEB)

  • "Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.." - Hebrews 11:1  (WEB)

  • But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart"; that is, the word of faith, which we preach: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:8-9  (World English Bible)

A New Heavens and a New Earth

... 3  knowing this first, that in the last days mockers will come, walking after their own lusts, 4  and saying, "Where is the promise of his coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." ...

... 8  But don't forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9  The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will

pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

11  Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness, 12  looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, which will cause the burning heavens to be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13  But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. - 2 Peter 3:1-18  (WEB)
